Existing markets include France, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Romania, Poland, Netherlands and Belgium in Europe, as well as the US, Latin America and Australia where Max launched on March 31st.
The Max Basic with Ads advertising supported plan will also launch on Amazon in Spain and Andorra, joining France, Sweden and the Netherlands where it’s already available.
Luca Nicoli, VP Digital Ad-supported Services, EMEA at WBD, said: “Expanding our advertising supported tier availability to Spain, Portugal, and Andorra gives brands a unique opportunity to partner with our premier streaming service via high-impact ad products surrounding HBO and Max Original series. Applying our years of experience as an advertising partner across TV networks and Discovery+, in key markets including the UK, Italy, Germany, and Nordics brands benefit from our commercial break patterns designed to seamlessly integrate into the content viewing experience. Subscribers have responded extremely positively to the rollout of the Max with Ads plan, helping to expand our customer base by appealing to audience segments who want lower priced access to Max’s quality content including The White Lotus [pictured], The Last of Us and breakout Spanish local original When Nobody Sees Us.”
Alessandro Araimo, Executive Vice Presidente and Managing Director at WBD Iberia and Italia, added: “We are pleased to enrich our streaming service Max and launch in Spain a new way for the audience to subscribe to the service and access to hundreds of memorable titles that are part of our group. At the same time, we are aware that advertisers want to spread their messages through media that are reliable, solid, and have a clear and distinctive positioning in the market”.
