UHD Spain, FAVN France, UHD Italy strategic agreement

The UHD Spain Association, the Forum Audiovisuel Numérique (FAVN) of France and the UHD Forum Italy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Ultra HD technology in Europe and international markets.
This agreement lays the foundation for a strategic collaboration between the leading European associations dedicated to the development and implementation of advanced technologies in the media industry.
The primary goal of this MoU is to coordinate joint activities that facilitate the adoption of UHD as a technological standard at both European and global levels. The agreement is designed as a long-term collaboration, with a focus on technical cooperation, training and the promotion of technological innovation.
The MoU a series of specific activities aimed at knowledge sharing among associations. These activities include, among others, the exchange of information between the working groups of the different organisations, generate best practice guidelines, the implementation of joint training programmes and the development of technical tests and pilots.
The agreement also seeks to strengthen the position of the three associations as key stakeholders in front of European institutions and other international organisations. This will allow the associations to coordinate their efforts on regulatory, standardisation and promotional matters, ensuring that European policies support the development and adoption of UHD.
One of the memorandum’s objectives is to achieve greater integration in the development of standards and regulations, positioning Europe as a leader in audiovisual innovation. The coordination between UHD Spain, FAVN France and UHD Italy seeks to enhance Europe’s ability to compete in the global market and establish benchmarks in quality and interoperability.
The memorandum comes at a crucial time for the media industry, where UHD is paving the way for a more technologically advanced future. The adoption of Ultra HD not only improves image and sound quality but also enables new applications in areas such as HDR (High Dynamic Range), AI-powered upscaling and content personalisation. The collaboration between UHD Spain, FAVN France and UHD Italy aims not only to foster the development of advanced technologies but also to create a more connected, innovative and sustainable media industry.
