Cairo-based Middle East satellite operator Nilesat has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RASCOM (Regional African Satellite Communications Organisation) with the intention of boosting satellite technology collaboration across Africa and the Mid-East.

The MoU is, in essence, a Marketing Service Contract, marking the beginning of a “dynamic and mutually beneficial partnership in the field of space science and satellite technology” stated a press release.

“This partnership signifies a strategic alignment of our shared goals to drive innovation, knowledge exchange, and the advancement of satellite services across the region. Together, we aim to deliver enhanced connectivity and foster capacity building in the space sector,” commented Hesham Sallam, Chief Commercial Officer at Nilesat.

“RASCOM is excited to partner with NILESAT in this important initiative. By combining our strengths and resources, we look forward to delivering impactful solutions and expanding access to space-based technologies,” added Timothy Ashong, DG at RASCOM.
