Russmedia chooses Nordic Media Tailor to manage digital archive

April 29, 2025

Media Tailor, the Nordic media technology company, and Austrian media giant Russmedia have launched a significant international partnership that resulted in an efficient digital asset management solution. It serves around one hundred journalists daily.

Russmedia’s vision was to find a technology partner capable of meeting the challenges of a rapidly evolving media landscape while supporting the company’s digital transformation.

The solution, developed as a result of the collaboration, is based on Media Pocket, a platform developed by Media Tailor. With Media Pocket, Russmedia manages its archive of more than 10 million images and receives 10,000 new images and articles daily.

“I’m very happy with how the project went. Everything runs smoothly and we’ve received positive feedback internally. Big compliments to the whole Media Tailor team – it’s clear they have put real passion into this,” said Dominic Depaoli, CTO, Russmedia.

In addition to the new workflows, a German-language AI-powered image recognition feature was added to Media Pocket, making it easier to browse archives and reuse content. The service was also integrated with Russmedia’s core production systems, including WordPress and InDesign.

The project began in January as a collaboration between Media Tailor, Russmedia, and their shared partner PPI Media. The new system was successfully rolled out by the end of March.

“This project was a great example of how smooth international collaboration can be. Media Pocket integrated seamlessly with our systems, and we felt confident with Media Tailor throughout both planning and implementation,” commented Depaoli.

As a trailblazer in the German-speaking media world, Russmedia is now better positioned than ever to not only improve internal processes but also enhance content monetisation and distribution across a wide range of channels.

“It was crucial to address all aspects – from users to platforms. This wasn’t just about rolling out a new service, it’s a key part of Russmedia’s broader tech transformation. We were honored to help lead that change,” said David Mühle, CEO of Media Tailor Sweden.
