LNK revamps its OTT with Backscreen
March 19, 2025

LNK, Lithuania’s leading private national broadcaster, has announced a partnership with Backscreen, a cross-gen OTT platform provider, that will see Backscreen modernise LNK’s OTT services. The project will enable multiple forms of advertising-based monetisation and support multiple screens. The deployment will be based on Tet Cloud.
LNK operates five live TV channels available free-to-air through terrestrial and cable networks. It produces around 35 per cent of its content. To improve monetisation and adapt to the changing patterns in content consumption, LNK has decided to expand its digital distribution.
Backscreen will provide the OTT platform for advertising-based video on demand (AVoD) and dynamic ad insertion (DAI) in-stream monetisation. The platform will embed display monetisation fields within UI. On the UX side, the Backscreen platform with its cross-gen design will appeal to the traditional live TV audience while providing transition to non-linear experience. It will also include the VoD portal embedding of the most recent paradigms for video UX. The service will be hosted on Tet Cloud which is fully controlled by EU entities to ensure security and stability in these uncertain geopolitical times.
“We aim to provide our viewers with the most convenient access to LNK TV Group’s video content – whether via a mobile application, a smart TV, or by streaming popular programmes on our website. The upcoming product will significantly expand the available video content for registered users and offer even more – exclusive access to LNK Group’s TV series, shows, and other video content up to a month before they air on television. Most importantly, viewers will be able to enjoy all of this for free,” commented Zita Sarakienė, CEO, LNK TV group.
“Advertisement and live TV are still the major phenomena in the media industry, despite all the SVoD rush. Backscreen respects it and provides a platform that takes the most of the present to make the best for the future. And it aligns with our business model,” added Jan Frelek, CCO, Backscreen.
