Sensethefuture Pictures resumes crime doc development

March 17, 2025

Sensethefuture Pictures, a broadcast-led company, is resuming the development of crime documentary series for audiences in the UK, Europe, and the US.

Founder and CEO Teresa Potocka has an extensive track record in management, scaling operations, building organisations and developing new technology products from scratch, including an OTT TV prototype platform for the Benelux region. With over 300 hours of unscripted programming developed for international broadcasters, streaming platforms, and brands, Sensethefuture Pictures continues to expand its footprint in factual storytelling. Under Potocka’s leadership, the company was recognised as the Best TV & Film Communications Agency – EMEA by Corporate Vision in 2019 and was longlisted for Channel 5’s Diversity Fund in 2019, leading to its expansion into strategic communications, AI-led development, and PR for international markets.

Potocka has also spearheaded publicity and world premiere communications for scripted dramas, including productions for Japan’s leading broadcaster, Kansai TV and was hired as Kansai TV’s Scripted TV Agent for the Berlinale Series market. Further strengthening her expertise, she recently completed the “Step Up to Production Executive in Unscripted TV” course, funded by a ScreenSkills bursary through the TV (Non-Scripted) Skills Fund. Reflecting on this, she stated:

“While already operating at executive level and as a small business owner, the course provided an opportunity to consolidate my expertise in management in broadcast television, new product development, and taking projects from ideation to execution—critical skills in today’s challenging market conditions.”

Sensethefuture Pictures has secured exclusive access to key individuals and locations, enabling the exploration of untold crime stories. Collaborations with former Metropolitan Police detectives and criminologists further enrich their investigative storytelling. One standout project, Inside the Body Farm, was developed with unprecedented access to the world’s largest forensic research facility in Texas which Potocka visited in January 2023. Though the series was postponed due to UK lockdowns imposed during the pandemic by then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Sensethefuture Pictures remains committed to maintaining operational continuity—five years after the pandemic’s onset and to go beyond its current scale-up and scale-down operational structure.

With a renewed focus on investigative storytelling, Sensethefuture Pictures is poised to deliver thought-provoking crime documentaries to global audiences.
