Data: 24.6m Americans watch Trump’s inauguration

An estimated 24.6 million Americans tuned in on January 20th to watch the inauguration of Donald Trump as 47th president of the US, according to Nielsen.
Viewership peaked with 34.4 million viewers during the 12:15pm ET quarter-hour. While coverage varied by network, 15 networks aired coverage of the 60th Inauguration Day events from approximately 10:30am to 7:00pm ET. The biggest share of the audience by far was aged 55+.
The number was well down on the estimated 33.8 million Americans who tuned in to watch the inauguration of Joe Biden as the 46th president of the US on January 20th 2021 – although this was at a time when many were staying at home as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
