Green Streams, Swisscom partnership
October 29, 2024

IPTV/OTT platform provider Green Streams and Swisscom have entered into a strategic partnership for the Swiss market. Green Streams has integrated Swisscom’s TV and video backend and content delivery network (CDN) with the Green Streams ‘Media Integration Platform’ and the Green Streams white-label frontend applications. This creates a flexible TV and entertainment service for network operators of all sizes in Switzerland.
Since the contract between the two companies was signed in the summer, Green Streams’ flexible end-to-end IPTV service has quickly gained traction in the Swiss market.
This end-to-end service includes Swisscom’s video backend and Green Streams’ Media Integration Platform for efficiently managing all product and business aspects of a network operator in real time, including front-end applications. The service thus covers all relevant end devices: from set-top boxes, smart TVs and Apple TV to mobile devices.
Green Streams also provides ready-made meta-aggregation of third party content. This means that Netflix, Disney+ and all other relevant SVoD providers are already integrated in the STB launcher without the individual network operator having to conclude an individual contract with them.
Each network operator can thus operate freely on the market under its own brand, with its own product logic, its own upselling logic and its own content discovery – without any restrictions.
“With Green Streams, we have found a strong strategic partner that will set the standard in Europe in terms of multi-client capability and flexibility,” commented Elias Gutscher, Lead Partner Integrations TV & Entertainment at Swisscom. “We are convinced that Green Streams’ offering, which is based on our modern video backend platform, is particularly attractive for small and medium-sized network operators, both technologically and commercially.“
“It was clear to us that the Swisscom video backend is the best option for offering Swiss network operators of all sizes the best IPTV and OTT product in combination with the Green Streams platform,” added Gernot Jaeger, CEO of Green Streams. “Together, we are setting new standards in terms of quality, reliability, redundancy and efficiency, and we have put together a package that will help network operators achieve their TV and entertainment goals.”
