Paramount+ orders Landman Season 2

Paramount+ has renewed breakout hit Landman for a second season.
The debut season of Landman ranked as a Top 10 SVoD Original Series across all SVoDs for Q4 alongside Paramount+ originals Tulsa King and Lioness. This marks only the second time since Nielsen began tracking SVODs (Q3–17), that a service had three of the top 10 series outside of Netflix
Landman had 35 million global streaming viewers for the premiere episode and set new records for Paramount+, including:
- Most watched global premiere and finale of any series in Paramount+ history
- #1 Paramount+ original ever on the service
- #1 engagement driver
- #1 on households
- Billy Bob Thornton scored a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Tommy Norris.
- Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios continue red-hot streak with three of the top ten Q4 streaming series
“Landman was one of the biggest shows of the year because of Taylor Sheridan’s unique ability to tap into the cultural zeitgeist, harnessing the Neo-Western themes of rugged individualism, ambition and working-class struggles set against contemporary debates around energy, climate change and economic growth,” said Co-CEO of Paramount Global Chris McCarthy. “The series has helped drive Paramount+ to new heights as the number two SVoD in the US for Original Hours Watched in Q4, alongside our other hit series Tulsa King, The Agency, Lioness and Dexter: Original Sin.”
Landman is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast Boomtown from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly, the series is a story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.
In addition to Thornton, Landman also stars Demi Moore, Jon Hamm Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan and Colm Feore. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions. Landman is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
