ProSiebenSat.1 proposes Kyriacou for Chairwoman of Supervisory Board

April 7, 2025

ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE Supervisory Board has announced that Maria Kyriacou will be proposed as a candidate for election to the company’s Supervisory Board at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 28th, alongside Dr Katrin Burkhardt and Simone Scettri who are up for re-election. If elected, Kyriacou is also standing for appointment by the Supervisory Board as its new Chairwoman and thus as Dr Andreas Wiele’s successor. Wiele, the current Chairman, has previously announced that he will not seek re-election at the AGM.

Kyriacou brings nearly 30 years of leadership experience in the global media industry, with deep expertise in strategy, operations, and finance. She has held senior leadership roles at renowned media organisations, including Paramount Global, ITV Studios, and The Walt Disney Company. At Paramount, she oversaw international broadcast and studios operations outside the US, managing a portfolio of networks and creative hubs across multiple countries. At ITV Studios, she led the company’s fast-growing division, driving the success of global franchises such as The Voice and Love Island. In addition to her executive career, Kyriacou currently serves as a Non-Executive Director at Informa and has previously held board positions at Wizz Air and FAT Face Group.

DWiele commented: “We are pleased to propose Maria Kyriacou as a candidate for the Supervisory Board and my succession. Her extensive experience and proven leadership in the global media industry make her ideally suited to help guide the successful transformation that ProSiebenSat.1 has begun in the last years.”

Kyriacou added: “It is an honour to be nominated for the Supervisory Board of ProSiebenSat.1. The company has an impressive legacy in the entertainment industry, and I look forward to working with the Board and management team to drive innovation, growth, and value creation for all stakeholders.”
