Sunset+Vine producing snooker for BBC, 5
April 17, 2025

Sunset+Vine’s Scotland and London teams will cross paths in Sheffield as they produce elite snooker for two British broadcasters, BBC Sport and Channel 5.
Sunset+Vine Scotland will be first to the table with 19 days of coverage of the Snooker World Championships led by Executive Producer and Head of Sunset+Vine Scotland Grant Philips.
“The Worlds is our third snooker event of the season in our first year of a three-year deal with the BBC,” commented Sunset+Vine’s Executive Producer Grant Philips. “We are live from the Crucible theatre in Sheffield and will show every ball potted across BBC channels One, Two and Four, including iPlayer and the BBC Sport website. We have introduced a new studio setup and design, updated graphics and remote logging to reduce our carbon footprint. Our specialist feature teams have been given unprecedented access behind the scenes. It has been a thrilling season so far and the World Championship is promising more exciting drama.”
After a two-day reset the London team, led by Executive Producer Titus Hill, will provide coverage of the 5-day Seniors World Championship.
“At Sunset+Vine we have grown up with the legends of the sport like Jimmy White and Ken Doherty, and the chance to produce the programming for Channel 5 on the World Seniors Championship will be a highlight for many of our team,” added Sunset+Vine’s Executive Producer Titus Hill. “Our commentary team at The Crucible will feature other stars of the sport including Dennis Taylor, Cliff Thorburn and John Virgo.”
Sunset+Vine’s staff directors Jamie Oakford and Craig Coughlan will lead the directing teams, while outside broadcast facilities for both tournaments will be provided by Cloudbass with graphics from Moov.
The BBC’s coverage will feature across BBC One, Two, Four and iPlayer while Channel 5 will broadcast on 5 and 5ACTION.
